A special event, ‘Spring Flowers with Adam Prest’ will help boost the Friarage Hospital MRI scanner appeal in its final stage.
The entertaining demonstration is being held at Catterick Golf Club on Wednesday 11 May 2016. Guests should arrive for 1.30pm and the demonstration starts at 2pm followed by afternoon tea.
Golf club captain Brian de la Haye and lady captain Val Pringle have kindly chosen the MRI scanner appeal as their charity of the year for 2015/2016. The course dates back to 1930 and blends seamlessly into the local countryside to provide both beautiful views and great golf holes.
Lady Captain Val Pringle is organising the event with Adam ‘florist to the stars’ to help a good cause which benefits local people.
Adam, a farmer’s son from Sedgefield in County Durham showed his produce and animals at Sedgefield show aged 8 and winning flower arranging competitions got him started in his own business at 16. He trained with top London florist Pulbrook & Gould and has worked with Habitat in London to celebrate British flowers. He has demonstrated for the National Trust and Marks and Spencer and has clients in music, fashion, and show business.
He designs for footballers’ wives and stately homes and will create anything from modern wreaths bursting with pom poms to chic classics. Expect a wonderfully entertaining experience and real art pieces. He said: “I am proud and excited to be asked to support such a fantastic appeal and am looking forward to creating some exciting floral displays to inspiring people. Expect the unexpected – British spring flowers with a unique twist.”
Golf club captains Brian De la Haye and Val Pringle kicked off the fundraising with a raffle raising a fantastic £460. Val said: “We are delighted to help the scanner appeal and support our local hospital and are very grateful for the support we have received from everyone so far.”
Tickets priced at £15 are available from lady captain Val Pringle on telephone 01969 623849 or from the bar at Catterick Golf Club, Leyburn Road, Catterick.
