Scanner appeal gets a boost from Nurses League

Nurses league FOF MRI scanner don May 2014 1The Northallerton Nurses League’s generous donation to The Friends of the Friarage Hospital has provided a welcome boost to the Friarage Hospital’s MRI scanner appeal.

The league, founded in 1962 by matron CM Harker, enables Friarage trained nurses to keep in touch and they have around 300 members scattered throughout the world, many still employed in nursing.

Eva Shuttleworth, president, said: “On behalf of the Nurses League, I am delighted to present the Friends of the Friarage with a £500 cheque towards the scanner appeal. We wish them continued success in all they undertake for the patients and staff of the Friarage Hospital, GP surgeries and health centres in our community.”

Friends chairman, Brian Thompson, said: “The Friends are very happy to endorse the scanner appeal for this vital piece of equipment. We would like to thank the Northallerton Nurses League for their donation and for supporting us in our pledge to raise £500,000 towards the scanner appeal target of £2million.”Friends of Friarage logo
