Leyburn Gilbert and Sullivan Society is presenting a concert version of ‘The Mikado’ on Saturday 17 May 2014. The performance is being held at Bedale Hall and all money raised will support the Friarage MRI scanner appeal.
The 1885 far eastern tale of love and bumbling bureaucrats is universally regarded as one of W S Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan’s finest collaborations. Gilbert’s topsy-turvy and comic plot is punctuated with some of Sullivan’s finest melodies, including – A wand’ ring minstrel I, I’ve got a little list, Three little maids from school are we, The sun whose rays are all ablaze, and Tit Willow.
Doors open at 7pm and tickets are £6 per person including refreshments. If you would like to come along and support a local good cause tickets are available from The Weigh House, Bedale or by contacting Sue Inglis on Bedale 01677 422476.
