People flock from all over the country to enjoy Northern Soul events in the North east where oldies are played exclusively. The popular music nights include a spot of fundraising and Northallerton Soul Club is supporting the Friarage Hospital’s MRI scanner appeal.
MRI scanners are used to diagnose a wide range of health conditions. A scanner for the Friarage will be a valuable resource for medical teams and a welcome addition to the diagnostic services currently available at the Northallerton hospital.
The next Northern Soul night is being held in the Forum, Bullamoor Road, Northallerton DL6 1LP on Saturday 1 August 2015, 8pm to 1am. Entry is £4 per person on the door.
A music and dance movement that emerged in northern England in the late 1960s, Northern Soul is about the passion in listening, dancing and collecting rare black American soul music based on the heavy beat and fast tempo of the mid-1960s Tamla Motown sound.
Resident DJ’s Neil Brown and Dave ‘Doc’ will entertain with pure oldies and classics, joined by guest DJs Mick Boyes, Kev Richardson and Dave Cummings.
