Yorkshire Classic Car Club’s annual open event – the Dales Trail supported the Friarage’s MRI scanner appeal this year raising a fantastic £750.
Over 40 cars set off from Romanby Golf course on the gruelling 85 mile route through the picturesque North Yorkshire Dales. The cars ranged from a 1930’s MG to a 1990’s Lexus coupe. All the cars made it back to Romanby for a welcome cup of coffee.
There was a prize for the car that had travelled the furthest to take part in the event and this was won by Colin and Helen Readwin who travelled some 137 miles from Anstey in Leicestershire.
Judith Masterman from the appeals team had the difficult task of choosing the car she would like to take home with her. She chose a 1950 MG YA owned by Bernard Meynell from Nunthorpe.
Yorkshire Classic Car Club’s Chairman Dave Simpson presented the cheque to Judith supported by their secretary Sheila Mason who organised the fund raising for the event.
A big thank you to everyone who took part and all who supported the event.
